Why Doesn't Love Go Far Enough?

Okay so you know you love this person right. As in not a minute passes on your watch that you don't think of them. You're generally very happy and very contented with things. On the flip side though, you get the down times.

Like the times you get so angry you dont wanna speak to them. The times you just don't give a toss about being kind or doing and saying the right things. Why cant love intervene at these crucial times? Times where you two just speak but are actually not hearing or listening to each other, or times when every little thing the other person does just riles you, or you row about the simplest of things. Why cant love step in and save the day?

Where's love when that blinding fury comes to the fore? Did love take a flight at the exact moment those horrible words spurtered out of your mouth? Where was love hiding when all you see are faults? Why cant love help you to be patient, not to say unkind words, to understand the other person better, to suppress that brewing fury from the pit of your belly, to be more appreciative. Why cant it just be there always, present everytime and makes everything sail smoothly and guide you on the right path?

Dear love, why can't you just be damn enough!

I understand you totally... I think it is because our view of love is very myopic...

Em....I heard somewhere that lovers actually just hope for a quarell/fight to erupt between them, so they get a chance at some "make-up sex", which by the way I heard is the Greatest thing ever. lol

@Funms...true talk.
@Doll...lol, there's no answer except that whatever the row. Don't sleep that night until it is resolved. Unless of cos you had the row in the night.
@Harry...true. We expect too much from love.
@Sugarking...That's what they say. That's yet to happen in my own case o. Maybe when the distance is no longer between us.

Why can't love just be there always? I think it's because we're not perfect.

And as a newly wed, I am lol-ing to Sugarking's statement. LOL.

'Love' doesn't go far enough.... because we often are faced with the conundrum of options....... and we are human after all - also driven by the desire to exact a 'just' vengeance..

nne, love has got nothing to do with these things u've mentioned o. na ur common sense. wen u wan talk dat time wey ur brain don warn u say e go cause wahala, but u refuse cos u wan prove ur right, well no come blame love wen kasala burst 4 ur face.

now, love is forgiving a partner after they have suffered from mouth diarrhea & said really hurtful things. love is deciding to get ur partner another chance after they've hurt u. love is sucking it up wen u find ur partner 2 have flaws, & discovering ways to celebrate their strengths. That's what love is!

Those pple who thrive on make-up sex will soon jam fight wey pass dem head!

There is a thin line between love and hate. And we cross it over and over all the time.

Just relying on LOVE doesn't cut it. You have to make a conscious effort to speak kindly to the other person, to treat them with respect, to honour them, to react with kindness even though everything in you screaming for revenge. I've discovered that Love is not just a magical pill that conquers all. It's a very conscious, very alive, very active type of response to everything.

so what's the answer?

Love, a very annoying emotion..
You ask where love is when all these things happen? I ask what love is!

Is it lust? Cos lust stops you from saying some harsh things if you still want to get some!!!

Love alone is not enough...because as human beings we all have our personal xter flaws to deal with...

But when you walk in the love of God according to 1Cor 13, it can take care of a lot of problems in love!

love is enough, it really is, you just have to make it fit. You have to fuel it, feed it, nurture it and protect its.
